The yacht is berthed at Holmeport Marina Church Point on Sydney's Pittwater.Sticky members tend to stay long term, with two members being there from the start, some 12 to 13 years. She has had a soft life, & has not been raced. The yacht is mainly sailed in Pittwater with the occasional trip down to Sydney Harbour. Indeed, prospective owners who wish to sail long & hard will not be admitted. Pittwater is well known as a wonderful sailing destination with many swell free moorings & anchorages for overnighting. There are also many varied waterfront dining options from Newport to Cottage Point to Ettalong Beach. The boat is easily sailed having furling genoa & furling in mast main, with all controls coming back to the cockpit. The six member syndicate seems a goldilocks number, probably better than 10 to 12, or 2 to 3.The usage roster is a real feature. Every six weeks each owner has use of the boat for four days, from Friday to Monday inclusive. The other three days, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday are flexible for any owner to book. This is done via a Google Drive calendar. As all owners are busy professionals, these three flexible days are nearly always available. It is possible to bookend the Friday to Monday slot with the flexible days, giving ten days in total.As opposed to marina managed commercial syndicates, where there is little room for movement by members regarding maintenance costs; Sticky is maintained & managed professionally & astutely by the syndicate team & each owner is assured of value for money. The last member to join is a qualified marine engineer, an asset for any privately run yacht syndicate. There are usually one or two working bees for a half day each year. This gives owners a chance to become involved, meet other owners & discuss any ongoing plans for the yacht. Although owners rarely cross paths, emails are encouraged, & all owners share a fine relationship.The monthly contribution is $350 per member, which covers all running costs, including marina berth, insurance, regular programmed servicing, slipping, antifouling, hull polishing & other one off jobs that from time to time need attention. Each owner leaves the boat in a clean & tidy condition for the next owner & this system works extremely well.Regarding the dinghies, there is a Marine Tech 2.4m, which is left on board. It stows neatly into a bag (see photos). Also, I have a Zodiac 3.1m, which has a four section ply floor. (see photos). The new owner can choose to take or leave this, at no cost adjustment.I am selling as I am now in my mid seventies, have run out of sailing partners & do not wish to sail on my own.There are three reviews of the 2011/12 Bavaria 36;1.
