This model was in production between 1982 and 1994 with 571 being built. The old adage, 'if it's not broken dont fix it' is pertinent with this boat. The model remains as popular today as it was back then.Upgraded over the years she boasts a new Volvo D1-20 inboard diesel, up to date electronic navigation aids including radar, plotter and AIS. Her standing rigging doesn't need changing before 2027 and she wears a suit of Hyde sails purchased new in 2018. MechanicalThe vessel was re-engined in 2018. The engine installed is a 3-cylinder Volvo D1-20 with ES130 saildrive unit and 3-Blade folding propeller. The engine has completed 303 serviced hours with most recent in late September 2023. Her owner always services it just before lift out at the end of each season.Engine is located beneath the companionway. This allows easy access for daily checks and servicing requirements. The saildrive and stop cock are accessed from the cockpit through a hinged watertight hatchway. Bank of 3X12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. The batteries are fitted with a rotary style isolator on the domestic side and a key type on the engine. The batteries were replaced in 2021. Vessel is fitted with shore power. Sterling battery charger with smart monitoring system ensures battery health going forward. New Volvo D1-20 in 2018 New Volvo ES130 saildrive unit in 2018 New batteries in 2021 New Sterling battery charger in 2018 Shore power including cable RiggingBermudan masthead sloop rig with deck stepped aluminium spars by Selden. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2017. Terylene braid on braid running rigging brought aft with a series of turning blocks, deck organisers and spinlock clutches. All winches are by Lewmar and include ST40 2-speed. self tailing sheet winches, ST16 2-speed halyard and spinnaker winches and a mast mounted single speed reefing winch. Sails are in excellent condition with a boom mounted Hyde slab reefing mainsail, a Hyde roller furling genoa and a Hood cruising chute. Mainsail is mounted in a HR branded lazy jack bag and the genoa is fitted with a UV strip. She can sail off wind using either the genoa with a whisker pole, the cruising chute tacked down on the furled genoa using the O'Neil tacker or with the cruising chute tacked down on the spinnaker pole. Her current owner favours the second option which will give a hull speed of 7 knots on a beam reach in 10 knots of true wind.
