Manufacturer Provided DescriptionThe Luhrs 29 Open is an efficient alternative to fuel-thirsty outboards. Luhrs has come up with a boat that handles seas like a big boat, but is still agile and economical to run. Electronically fuel-injected gas engines or incredibly economical diesels will push the 29 to favorite fishing grounds and back with speed and fuel to spare. Outfitting the 29 is fairly simple and inexpensive and Luhrs provides all the usual expensive options as standard. A complete fishtower including controls, extra wide seat, and sunshade sit on the custom hardtop. All the aluminum rails and rocket launchers are standard as are the washdowns and livewell. From tackle drawers to rod holders, the 29 is a fully equipped package. The center-located console tilts back for easy maintenance and there is plenty of room for any electronics. Storage is plentiful under the settees and the standard three-sided enclosure will provide the protection needed when heading offshore. Accommodations below are surprisingly comfortable. Opposing settees offer generous seating for dining, large storage areas are below, and flip-up seatbacks allow sleeping for four. Refrigerator, two-burner range, sink and storage are all at hand in the galley while the forepeak head includes a sink, toilet, storage and a shower.
